The NMFTA's Classification Resource Committee (CRC) provides information and other resources to the Freight Classification Development Council (FCDC) on matters relating to the content of the NMFC. It provides information on classification research activities, the transportation characteristics of products moving via motor carrier and on motor carrier operations. The CRC may make recommendations and give advice regarding the Procedures for developing and maintaining the NMFC.

The CRC consists of up to 100 members. Any officer, owner or employee of a motor carrier that has signed the National Motor Freight Traffic Agreement can apply for membership on the CRC. The CRC application form is available here. Applications are reviewed and if the necessary criteria are met, applicants will be notified via email. Members serve for as long as they are willing or a change in status renders them unqualified to be a member. Members are expected to regularly attend and participate in CRC meetings.

Like anyone or any group having an interest in the content of the NMFC, the CRC can formulate and submit proposals to amend the NMFC. However, the CRC makes no decisions with respect to the disposition of proposals.

For more information on the CRC or to become a CRC member, please contact membership@nmfta.org.
